A Word About Ethan
Ethan Michael Harding passed away on May 7th, 2023, at age 23.Â
For 8 years, Ethan struggled with mental illness that led him down the path to the addiction that eventually stole his precious life.

We will not allow the addiction that he fought so hard against to be what defines our son.
​
Ethan had an amazing hope to help his peers who were struggling as he was.Â
Our goal is to continue Ethan's dream-to help others beat back the darkness.

A Passion Turned Legacy
Ethan's Hope began with a golden retriever puppy- Finley
We brought Finley into our family as Ethan's service dog, and he quickly became the inspiration for our program.

Today, Finley continues Ethan's legacy and is the living embodiment of Ethan's passion and care for what we do.
What We Do
Addiction is a selfish and horrible disease.
By partnering an addict in recovery (our "residents") with a rescue dog in our training program, the focus turns from themselves to saving the life of their partnered dog.Â
A dog trainer will teach residents how to train their partnered dog, increasing the dog’s chances of adoption. Through training, outings (rafting, hiking, games, and more), and shared experiences, both the resident and dog continue their healing journey. Residents gain confidence, pride, and valuable skills that may support their future, while the dogs receive essential socialization and training. Together, they experience the healing power of unconditional love and companionship.
